Becoming Nature

Aug 27 - Rupert, QC - Bird Language, deep awareness and nature connected community

  • 75 Canadian dollars
  • Rupert, QC - August 27th

Description

August 27th - 9am to 4pm - Rupert, QC The ancestors of all humans were once hunter gatherers. There's a common belief that we evolved towards "superior" ways of life over time: agriculture, industrial and now technological... My belief is that this progression has taken us further and further from the spiritual nature of life. "The birds original instructions are to lift us from our troubled minds." - Chief Jake Swamp, Mohawk Nation and Founder of Tree of Peace Society The birds have been allies to our hunter-gatherer ancestors for thousands of years helping them stay safe from predators. The sensory expansion and integration that comes from the practice of understanding bird language also brought them to a deeper state of awareness and connection. This ancient state of connection to the life around us holds the potential for a truly regenerative way of life. Even in the heart of the biggest cities, the birds are always there to bring us back to the essence of life. "The more technology we have, the more nature we need" - Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods and The Nature Principle Through experience, storytelling and interactive presentation, YOU'LL LEARN: * A framework for understanding the language of birds * Awareness routines to blend and flow with your natural surroundings * Simple ways to enhance community building through nature connection OFFICIAL WORKSHOP TIME: 9am to 5pm POTLUCK DINNER AND CAMPFIRE after the workshop is optional but recommended! FAMILIES ARE WELCOME! It wouldn't be a village without the children. My family travels with me to almost all these types of events and I encourage you to bring yours. There WILL NOT BE A FACILITATED CHILDREN'S PROGRAM. All parents are responsible for the care and supervision of their children. We hope that this creates a natural village feel where children can experience unstructured play in nature anchored by a group of conscious adults who care about the earth and the future generations. COST FOR FAMILIES AND COUPLES DISCOUNT ($25 OFF) Only the adult(s) who will participate in the workshop need to pay for the workshop. The other parent is assumed to be coming to take care of the kids. Of course, parents can swap roles as they wish. A couple with no children ( or older kids who take care of themselves) would pay for 2 adult participants. Register 2 participants and use the coupon code BNATCOUPLE at checkout to get the couples discount.
