Intro to Holistic Tracking

Jul 29/30 - Annapolis Royal / Mavillette, NS - Introduction to the art and science of tracking

  • 125 Canadian dollars
  • Mavillette Beach Provincial Park and Annapolis Royal Library

Description

Holistic Tracking means tracking with our whole being: Mind, Body, Heart and Spirit. It also means that what we learn from reading the animals' stories on the land enhances all aspects of our human lives. Tracking is not only for hunters, it's for everyone! Come discover the original science of all people and the doorway to activating our full sensory, cognitive and intuitive potential. "Tracking is the doorway to awareness. Awareness is the doorway to spirit" - Grandfather Stalking Wolf "Tracking is like dancing because your body is happy and you know the hunting will be good" - San Bushmen hunter in "The Great Dance" SATURDAY July 29th - ANNAPOLIS ROYAL LIBRARY - 2pm to 4pm An introduction to the methodology called the Elders of Tracking passed down to my mentor Jon Young by his teacher Tom Brown Jr who learned from Lipan Apache scout and master tracker Stalking Wolf. The interactive presentation will be participatory and infused with storytelling. You will also learn the basics of identifying the clear tracks of common North American mammals. SUNDAY July 30th - MAVILLETTE BEACH - 9am to 3pm - BYO Lunch We'll spend some time embodying the animals and learning to see through their eyes. We'll spend the rest of the day learning by experience, tracking in a sandy place that carries the tracks of some excellent local wildlife teachers guided by the art of good questioning. This workshop is for adults 19 and up “Living a similar rhythm as the animals, walking along their trails, stepping into their tracks and eating the fruits they feed on, I forgot all about my problems, challenges and worries. Living moment to moment with the land, the animals and the people, I came alive. In his gentle and intuitive way, Arnaud generously shared with us his knowledge and the teachings of his lineage, touching on many different aspects of holistic tracking and awakening in me the passion to continue on this trail. Thank you Arnaud!” -Bettina R
